Ingredients
- 5 ½ lbs apples, peeled & finely chopped
- 4 cups sugar
- 2-3 tsp cinnamon
- ¼ tsp ground cloves
- ¼ tsp salt
Instructions
- Place apples in a large bowl
- Combine sugar, cinnamon, cloves, and salt. Mix well then pour mixture over apples
- Place apples and mixture in crock pot, cover, & cook on high for 1 hour
- Decrease heat to low, leave covered, cook for another 9-11 hours or until thickened and dark brown
- Stir occasionally
- Uncover & cook on low for another hour
- If chunky, feel free to stir with a whisk until smooth
- Use immediately or spoon into freezer containers (remember to leave freezing space)
