Small Business Saturday is a day specifically formed to celebrate and support small businesses. Local small businesses help define your town’s culture, create jobs, boost the economy, & invigorate and build our local neighborhoods. Did you know that for every $100 spent at a local, small business, $68 is put right back into the local economy? Local, small businesses provide jobs for local families, donate to your local schools and other civic organizations, and make your neighborhood a unique place to live!
Small Business Saturday is an American shopping holiday held on the Saturday after US Thanksgiving during one of the busiest shopping periods of the year. First observed in the United States on November 27, 2010, it is a counterpart to Black Friday and Cyber Monday, which feature big box retail and e-commerce stores. By contrast, Small Business Saturday encourages holiday shoppers to patronize brick and mortar businesses that are small and local. Shopping Small is about more than just shopping at small businesses… It’s a cause that helps to support local economies and promote vibrant, diverse communities; it’s a nationwide movement fueled by shoppers, business owners, and organizers who come together and celebrate the community because they know it matters. Reasons to shop local:: you’ll help create jobs in our local community, your tax dollars stay local, small businesses give back to the neighborhood, shopping at one local business helps other local businesses, small businesses offer more unique products, and of course, it helps keep communities diverse.
Bauer’s Market & Garden Center is a small business owned by a local family, the same family since 1957! Join the nation on Saturday, November 30 in supporting locally-owned, small businesses. We hope to see you on Small Business Saturday… It wouldn’t be a true celebration without customers like you joining us!
Keep in mind, supporting your local community by supporting small businesses doesn’t have to just be on Small Business Saturday, but all year ’round.
