Spring is Coming and we’re seeing the signs all around!
Along with Daylight Savings time, the longer days, and the warmer nights, there are many signs of Spring happening here at Bauer’s.  We’ve received much of our new pottery and are quickly pricing and displaying these, benches are out in our big greenhouse and patiently waiting to be filled, garden seeds are in ample supply, apple season is coming to an end, and Easter plants & lilies have arrived!  Stop in and see the changes that are happening weekly and be the first to know when to expect new items!

Apple Season is almost finished…
We still have three varieties of apples currently available but these won’t last long.  Cameo, Mc Intosh, & Red Delicious we have on-hand which provides a selection of both eating (Cameo/Red Delicious) and cooking (Mc Intosh) apples to choose from.  Apples will be finished within the next two weeks or so, so if you’re in need, stop in this week!  Don’t forget to stock up your freezer with apple goodies too – apple pies and bread, Stovetop Filling to use in recipes during the next few months, Grilled Apples, and others.  If you’re looking for new apple recipes, visit our Recipe page on our website and scour the dozen of recipes currently available.

Gardening Seeds!
Now is the time to plan your 2018 garden.  Decide what you’ll start from seed versus what starter plants you’ll need to buy.  We have seeds galore – from veggies to annuals, organics, microgreens, even seed tape.  Visit soon for best selection.  Depending on what you’re planting, you may have to start your seeds indoors before planting outside after our last frost date (locally that is roughly the end of April), whereas a direct sow is more appropriate for other seed varieties.  There is a ton of growing info on the back of the seed packets that will give you a good guide as to where and when to sow your seeds.  Here is a link that provides some great seed starting tips!  Along with seeds, Bauer’s also has everything for your seed starting needs – growing trays, peat pots, soils, moisture meters, the list goes on and on.  Should you have any questions, please ask us in-store, give us a call, or shoot an email our way and our staff will be happy to help answer your questions!

Spring Events…
Here at Bauer’s, we want you to be successful in your gardens.  We know not all people have the same level of gardening knowledge and we’re happy to help you learn!  Take a look at our upcoming events on our website Calendar and be sure to sign up, or just stop by, for some of our great learning opportunities.  Between the seminars and the Perennial Walk & Talk events, there is something for everyone.  Our Perennial Walk & Talk events provide a unique opportunity for you to get the low down on our new arrivals while also having the chance to ask whatever gardening questions you may have.  These events will happen the First & Third Saturdays during the season, check the Calendar for dates and additional details.  Be sure to bring your morning coffee, your questions, a notepad, and a friend!  For you moms, dads, grandparents, and others with children- we’re happy to announce we’ll be continuing our Bauer’s Busy Bees events.  The Spring Series will run from April 14 to June 16.  If you know you’ll be attending a Busy Bees event, please pre-register so we can have enough materials for everyone.
