Do you remember….
Did you grow up putting baskets of flowers on neighbor’s doors every spring?  That’s a May Day tradition that seems to have gone by the wayside.  Let’s revitalize this simple gesture and start showing love again!  We’ve created a bunch of little May Day baskets, perfect for giving to your neighbors up and down your street, your friends, a child’s teacher, or co-workers.  When you hang these cuties on doorknobs, think along the lines of ding, dong, ditch…. hang your basket, ring the doorbell, and hide -then watch as you bring a smile to someone’s face!    Here is a brief history about May baskets and May Day – In some parts of the United States, May baskets are made. These are small baskets usually filled with flowers or treats and left at someone’s doorstep.  The giver rings the bell and runs away.

Have You Heard?
Bauer’s has started a new feature this spring that we hope you’ll like… a true blog where you can read about a variety of helpful and interesting topics every week! We’ll include the blog link in our e-news and it will also be published on our website. Feel free to email us if you’re looking for information about a topic, we’d be happy to write about it!

Calendar of Events – Don’t Miss Out!
Have you looked at our online calendar of Spring events yet?  Take look and choose some great, free learning seminars to attend.  Do you have unanswered perennial questions or interested in what’s new this year?  Join our Perennial Talk & Walk series that takes place every 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month.  Have kids?  Check out our Bauer’s Busy Bees events, held every Saturday through June 16.  In the last few weeks kids have created their very own greenhouse, garden markers, and plant people.  This weekend (May 5), they’ll be making an Earthworm Hotel!  Pre-register here – doing so means we’ve reserved the supplies for your child(ren) so no matter what time you show up between 8-10, they’ll be able to create the project.

Start thinking about Mother’s Day!
Mother’s Day is less than two weeks away – don’t forget one of the most important people in your life!  Bauer’s is here to cover all your needs…. a beautiful hanging basket, some candies, and a card.  Or why not make an afternoon and shop together and pick out a nice patio pot or a mix of annuals and create one yourself for her!  Of course, we always have Bauer’s Gift Certificates too if you live out of town (we’ll mail it straight to Mom) or if she’d rather pick out her own items.
