National Boss' Day

You’re not allowed to use the excuse you didn’t know!  Mark your calendars & celebrate National Boss’ Day October 16, 2017

History of Boss’ Day:: Patricia Bays Haroski registered “National Boss’ Day” with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in 1958.  She was working as a secretary for State Farm Insurance Company in Deerfield, Illinois, at the time and chose October 16, which was her father’s birthday, for whom she was working for at the time.  The purpose of designating a special day in the workplace is to show the appreciation for her bosses she thought they deserved. This was also a strategy to attempt to improve intra-office relationships between managers and their employees. Haroski believed that young employees sometimes did not understand the hard work and dedication that their supervisors put into their work and the challenges they faced.

Treat your Boss to a beautiful bouquet of flowers, chocolates, a houseplant for the office, baked items, or a myriad of other delicious treats available from Bauer’s Market & Garden Center.  Maybe you could even stop by the weekend before for some fresh, local apples and make your boss a homemade apple dessert for their special day!

Interested in a floral arrangement or other gift but don’t have time to stop in, Bauer’s can even deliver!  Check our delivery rates here; for delivery in other areas, please call (507.895.4583) between store hours (8a-7p) or email Info@BauersMarketPlace.com.
