2 cups flour
1 cup packed brown sugar
¾ cup butter, melted
½ cup old fashioned oats
Combine above ingredients. Set aside one cup for topping. Press remaining mixture into a 9 inch pie pan.
2/3 cup sugar
3 tablespoons cornstarch
1 ¼ cup water
3 cups diced, peeled apples
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon cinnamon
Dash nutmeg
Combine sugar, cornstarch, water and spices in a saucepan. Bring to a boil, stirring until mixture thickens. Stir in apples and vanilla. Pour into crust and sprinkle reserved mixture on the top.
Bake at 350 degrees for 40-45 minutes.
