• 3/4c brown sugar
  • 1/4c flour
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • pinch of nutmeg
  • 7 medium apples, peeled & sliced
  • 1 Tbsp lemon juice
  • 3 Tbsp butter, cubed
  • 2 unbaked pie crusts
  • egg wash for brushing crust


  1. Preheat oven to 375*
  2. Mix together brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg
  3. Place apple slices in mixing bowl.  Toss with dry ingredients to coat
  4. Press pie crust into 9″ pie dish.  Fill with apple mixture
  5. Drizzle lemon juice over apples.  Sprinkle cubed butter over apples
  6. Place second pie crust over filling {feel free to make a lattice top.  If not, cut slits on top crust to vent steam}.  Press edges to seal
  7. Bake 55-60 minutes & let cool before slicing
