• 5 ½ lbs apples, peeled & finely chopped
  • 4 cups sugar
  • 2-3 tsp cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp ground cloves
  • ¼ tsp salt


  1.  Place apples in a large bowl
  2. Combine sugar, cinnamon, cloves, and salt.  Mix well then pour mixture over apples
  3. Place apples and mixture in crock pot, cover, & cook on high for 1 hour
  4. Decrease heat to low, leave covered, cook for another 9-11 hours or until thickened and dark brown
  5. Stir occasionally
  6. Uncover & cook on low for another hour
  7. If chunky, feel free to stir with a whisk until smooth
  8. Use immediately or spoon into freezer containers (remember to leave freezing space)
